As part of the 101 Artists’ Colony Arts Alive banner program, Laura has created a beautiful expression of her own life’s journeys to be displayed on Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas.

Please join her this Saturday, February 4th at the Unveiling Reception for the opportunity to view the banner in person before it goes up! The reception will take place at 2:00 pm at the former Cabo Grill building located on the Coast Hwy, 1 blk south of La Costa Ave.

In The Flow

Mermaids have been present throughout history in many different culture’s mythologies, from the Odyssey to Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Mermaids are often thought of as symbols for temptation, beauty, and feminine strength. They are personified seduction, beckoning us to the seas of adventure.

Inspired by the work of another San Diego artist, Laura was asked to bring these motifs to the canvas using vivid but calming colors. We are pleased to share Laura’s most recent piece, In The Flow, which depicts the limitless spirit of one such beautiful creature.

This is a commissioned piece. It is 30×40.

When Yogananda, the beloved Yogi and founder of Self-Realization Fellowship, felt that he had lost connection to the Divine Mother, he found himself in deep, deep despair. He meditated until suddenly, in a vision, Her presence lit the room. Haloed in splendor, She said to him:

“Always have I loved thee! Ever shall I love thee!”

We’re very excited to share with you Laura’s newest (and biggest!) painting – Always, named for the inspirational quote of the Divine Mother to her Yogi when he was in dire need, represents the sacred Eternal Love – Divine Mother’s Love for us and our Love for Her, undying, everlasting.

This was a commissioned piece. It is 4′x6′. Prints are available in 12″x18.”
